DESIGNING VOCABULARY LEARNING MEDIA FOR THE ENGLISH DEPARMENT BY USING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATION

Abstract


Vocabulary is the first and foremost important step in language acquisition. In a classroom where students are not finding themselves comfortable with second language, language learning can be made interactive and interesting with the introduction of appropriate vocabulary exercises. This paper is an attempt to study and explore the various methodologies that can be incorporated in the teaching of vocabulary items in a language classroom by using information communication and technology (ICT).

The main goal of this research is to develop a media teaching and learning English based on Information Communication and Technology (ICT) and Elearning.Kaymedia.net social network that used exclusively as e-learning tool, toward the mastery of vocabulary impairment students in understanding meaning of words.

The approach will be used research and development. A research and development approach consisting of ten steps, including: (1) preliminary study and information gathering; (2) planning; (3) hypothetical model development; (4) hypothetical model feasibility test; (5) revisions; (6) limited scale field trials; (7) revision of field trial results; (8) more extensive trials; (9) final model revision; and (10) dissemination and socialization.

From the previous description of instructional media application and learning of English based on Information Communication and Technology (ICT) and Elearning.Kaymedia.net it can be said that the application of teaching and learning media is fun learning, has a high interactivity elements, causing students to remember more subject matter, and reduce operational
